"Racial Dating" addendum

Just wanted to write and thank people for sharing their thoughts on the last Topic I introduced.  I wanted to take the time to read people's thoughts and absorb them, then got distracted and never specifically answered anybody's comments.  I thought everyone had valid points and good insights about the issue, which was cool.

I think the general consensus is that the motivation behind the "whites only" website may be misguided, but the idea itself is not necessarily wrong.  I mentioned the discussion to Onion Gal, and she said that websites like JDate are still open to whites or other, you are just expected to specify that fact.  So, they apparently are not exclusive even if the focus is on one particular ethnic or special-interest group.  I guess that would be a key point, if minorities could go to the website and sign up, even if the expectation would be that they would not find a date there.

I think I like doing the Topic every other week, it allows more time to reflect and find new issues without exhausting the dialogue.  If anybody has anything they think would be interesting to discuss, let me know and I will definitely consider it as a future topic.  Thanks again for sharing, hope to have more threads like that in the future.
