You go, girls!

Yea!  That's freaking awesome, two American ladies get medals for the first-ever Olympic competition of women's sabre.  Maybe the guys will get on that winners podium one of these years!

That was cool. Especially how the one gal wasn't even supposed to be there and just got her spot when someone else dropped out. Then, she gets gold. I've watched a lot of Olympics the past 2 days while lying on the couch. Now, if they'd just show more equestrian and tennis at normal times...

And she is an incoming freshman at the University of Notre Dame. Might take in a women's fencing match is year. Expose the kids to a real live Olympian.

That's correct! I'm eager to go up there for a tournament myself this year, maybe get to meet her. It was hilarious because they actually had a news interview with her in Athens, with a newsperson from Indy. He said something about how "you're coming back home to Indiana, you're going to be a Hoosier" and her smile became just a tiny bit strained! I laughed because she was working to come up with something and finally said, "I'm sure Indiana will be nice."

In case you're interested, Escrime du Lac (the South Bend club) has their list of events here:
