Entry #1000: Hard to believe I've posted a thousand entries on here!  Though if you count my postings to communities such as ftwaynefencers, lutherans, and others, I passed that mark long ago.  Still, it is a bit of a milestone.  In thinking about my time on LJ, I know I haven't been too great about logging in and doing things like commenting lately.  I was not feeling too well for a while, then I got busy with some other things, then I started to get nervous about going back to read people's past entries.  When I started feeling like I was never going to catch up, I tended to avoid it altogether.  I've decided that I am just going to "start anew" from here on out and try to be a little more faithful about it, but I am not going to get frazzled over not reading previous entries.  If something important has happened in the past few weeks and I seem to have missed it, please give me a heads-up!

Speaking of communities, I just signed up with [info]bacon_dotcom to join others in showing my love for bacon's deliciousness.  Mmm, bacon... *drools*  And in other news based on groups and clubs, I overhauled the Summit City Fencing Club website earlier this week to make sure everything is up-to-date and as accurate as possible.  Whew!  I was supposed to go to a demonstration on Friday evening and then follow it up with a pizza party at the salle later on, but wasn't feeling well and missed out.  D'oh!  Oh, well.  The good news is that the officers decided, as a group, to hold two more practices during the week, so we will double from meeting twice a week to four times!  Should be fun, I'm looking forward to it.  I will support the Thursday night practices for a couple weeks, then I really want to pick up my trumpet again and start playing with the Brass Choir at Holy Cross.  I've been talking about it forever, but haven't made the necessary time to practice and get over there.  I figure setting a goal to be able to play at Thanksgiving should be a good target.

I got to work over at Parkview for the first time in a few weeks on Wednesday, which was cool.  It was a little unfortunate in that I got called in because Julie was sick, but it was definitely nice to get a few hours in!  In fact, I did so much that Julie e-mailed me on Friday afternoon to ask if I might want to come in on Monday and/or Tuesday!  Things were so slow over the summer and Parkview has been really frugal about budgeting lately, so she couldn't really justify bringing me in for a while, but when she saw what I was able to do with shelving and some other "housekeeping" tasks, I think she realized she could use me a little more!  I also have a third interview with Bankers Life and Casualty Company on Tuesday morning.  I'm not sure if it's right for me, but I am willing to hear them out and see where it goes.  I also got a response from Ball State saying they received my application -- not an interview at this point, but not a rejection either. *shrug*  squealnakedcatj and I were joking around because there is an empty apartment across the hall from his and ticklemerisi's digs, so we thought it would be just like the "good ol' days" in BotSwin (the dorm) if I got a job down at BSU and moved in there!  Anything can happen, but I am not exactly holding my breath.  So, I am feeling pretty positive overall and I think things are moving in the right direction.  I still have bad days and wish I was doing a little better a little faster, but overall I am pleased and looking forward with optimism.  Always a good thing, right?

I'm really glad that you are feeling optimistic - that's great! I guess you might have missed that we found out we're expecting at the end of May. :D

I gathered from your "pregnancy" tag when I looked at your journal a few minutes ago that this was the case. :P Congratulations, I am wishing you and sourtrout all the best!!!

Thank you very much! We are so excited. I'm still in awe over this little miracle.

I haven't made a post about this, but I am also planning on converting to the Catholic church, as sourtrout and his family are Catholic. I'm excited about it and very happy that we'll be raising our child in the Catholic church. I know, I know - it's not the Lutheran church... ;)

Glad to hear things are well. 1K postings is quite a feat. I do hope BSU will opt for an interview. Meanwhile, a third interview with Bankers Life and Casualty Co? Why have I not heard about this before? If you told me about it, I apparently wasn't listening well. Talk about "well established," they say on their site:

Established in 1879, Bankers Life and Casualty Company is today one of the largest and most respected insurance companies in the United States focused exclusively on the needs of senior Americans.

Bankers services the needs of seniors through a broad portfolio of quality, competitive insurance products including long term care, life, annuities and medicare supplement; a national sales force of professionally trained career agents; and a dedicated group of highly capable home office employees.

Are you interviewing for one such "home office employee" position or would you be working at their FW office at 9017 COLDWATER RD? Let me know.

Just a reminder, we'll be gone to Mackinac next weekend for our 3rd anniversary and may be busy the following Saturday the 13th with Marisa birthday celebration. (Her b-day's on the 12th, but we may celebrate Sat. instead with family.) Hopefully we can get together the 3rd or 4th weekend of October.

Speaking of birthdays, it's Mom's birthday today! Send her a quick email if you like. I'm sure she'd be surprised and pleased.
