I have been thinking about doing this for a while, but never got around to it -- I finally [ripped] all of my Take 6 albums to my hard drive.  So, I now have over 6 hours of Take 6 goodness that I can listen to without needing to go grab my CDs!  I normally don't want to take up a lot of space on my computer with music, but this seemed to be a wise move.

I got to hang out with Andrea today for the first time since she's given birth, so I got meet her daughter and have a little fun with her.  Very cute, very little!  I got her a little stuffed tiger so I can help pass along the love of those noble animals to the next generation. ;)  Also got all my paperwork signed at Parkview and will be getting in a few hours this week, as well as starting volunteering regularly at the Ivy Tech library next week.  Plus, I am filling out and sending some membership apps to a couple professional associations before the week ends.  So, I figure I can start sending out resumes to more libraries at the end of next week on a more positive note.  I will be able to say I'm doing multiple things and being proactive, rather than just sitting around with nothing to show for myself.  I'll have to get a second job because I'm not going to get nearly enough hours at Parkview, but at least I'll still be staying with something related to the library field.  I had been hoping to apply for a position at ITT Tech after getting Parkview all figured out as well, but they already took the announcement down.  Boo.

I am really annoyed because my car is having more and more problems, and some of them were due to incompetence of others.  I took it in on Monday afternoon and didn't get it back until an hour ago!  Brad couldn't figure it out for quite a while; he now thinks that when the "lube places" do something besides change oil, they don't quite know what to do -- he's seen this before.  Turns out an air supply valve was hooked on incorrectly and that was causing my engine light to keep coming on.  So, the fact that Jiffy Lube screwed up a few months ago means I have to pay an extra $65 now!  Grr.  I was telling my folks earlier this week that despite my desire to avoid getting even deeper into debt, it's soon going to be time to take out a car loan.  I'm putting more money into the Lumina than it's worth at this point.  It's been a good vehicle, but you gotta know when to say enough is enough.  I just wish I had a little more money in the ol' savings account. *sigh*

I'm going to the Rose-Hulman Tournament of Roses on Sat, so that should be fun.  I'm actually carpooling down tomorrow night (Fri) with Jim and Greg, we're going to crash there for the night so we can be fresh and ready to go in the morning.  Hopefully, I will do well and can have a fun little adventure out of town.  Whee!

er.. i know this is irrelevant, but since you're a librarian and take your word play seriously...

burned refers to writing files to a CD since the laser "burns" it in.
Taking files from Cd to your hard drive is "ripping" it. I guess because it's being "ripped" from the disk. *shrug*

Ah, yes. "Ripping" is indeed the correct term. As I said, I don't normally do it and I got muddled on the terminology when writing this entry! Good eye.

At first I thought you were saying you had burned all your Take 6, like in a fire. I was shocked until I finished the sentence :-)

FWIW I recently stopped taking my car to Jiffy lube because of repeated "check engine" light occurrences. I haven't yet decided whether I'm going to take to dealer from now on or find another place. I really don't want to take it to the dealer for oil changes.

*LOL* That's funny, I would never do that! :P

Boo. I think I am going to have them do just oil changes and that's all. I had so much trouble with them another time that they gave me a permanent 15% discount card. I figure they can handle the oil stuff, but it seems like anything else just ends up causing more problems later. At least I'm not the only one, for better or worse.

Glad you finally took the 'big plunge' on Take 6 ;) Very cool that Parkview welcomed you back with open arms. I've always had good experiences with Jiffy Lube, but each location had different staff and management, thus different competence.
