Backmed

OK... that's somewhat odd.  In the interests of getting rid of some clutter, especially donated journals which we already have, we've taken to putting a cart out in the hallway that says "Free Stuff From Library" on it.  Normally, a few things disappear and then I'm supposed to put the rest of it on Backmed to see if other medical libraries want our spare issues.  Just now, I walked out to go to the restroom and noticed stuff had been added to the cart.  What the heck?  Where did all these issues of Clinics in Laboratory Medicine come from?  It's nice that people are bringing donations to the library, but we've never had them just pile up on the freebie cart like that before!  Strange, but true.

Anarchy!

It was either someone unobservant, someone who didn't care or someone sneaky. I think you should write a new sign that says "SPK's personal fund donations. Affix and flap and money pouch and see what kinds of candy wrappers and notes you get along with the nickles and pennies. Call it a social experiment with a limited population.

*LOL* Actually, having a donation can or something might not be a bad idea. I'm not sure if there are any hospital regs on that or not, I'll have to ask Julie when she gets back. A little supplemental income would be nice, though!

Maybe someone had medical journals they wanted to get rid if and thought it'd be easy to do so by dumping it in with the library stuff. heh.

Dump

Well, normally they bring the stuff into the library first! The theoretical problem is that some random person could take a volume which we need and which everyone would be able to use. That wouldn't be cool, man! :(
