Trying to catch me riding dirty

Talked to squealnakedcatj a little while ago, he confirmed that he is coming up to the Fort tomorrow morning.  Yay!  Might go see the new Pirates of the Carribean movie tonight, I made tentative plans with Troy & Jim to see it on opening night.  Left a message for him last night, hope to hear from him when I get home.

Blockbuster is such a ripoff.  I forgot to mention in my previous posting that I rented some movies over the weekend.  I actually felt like staying up and watching something, especially with mostly reruns on TV, so I went to get a pizza from Papa John's and stopped at the Blockbuster next door.  I was thinking older movies would run for $2.00 or something like that, not $3.79 each or whatever it was!  Stupid.  I might take a look at the new Family Video that opened near my house, I just went to Blockbuster this time because of its proximity to the pizza.  Grr.  Anyway, I rented Galaxy Quest (at tv_elf's suggestion), Signs, and Garden StateGQ actually wasn't bad, I'm not a big Tim Allen fan, but it had its moments -- the part where the aliens think Gilligan's Island is a historical reality was pretty amusing!  I was not particularly impressed with Signs -- I appreciated the faith and science being in tandem rather than working opposed to each other, but it was somewhat bland and I could guess within the first five minutes that the reverend would get his faith back somehow.  Very "Blair Witch" in some aspects, too.  Garden State was definitely my favorite -- I like Zach Braff a lot and I had been meaning to rent this forever.  Plus, I'm from NJ!  Very good and I listened to both commentaries.  Whee!

Not too much else going on.  Julie is working from home today; I was mistaken on the presentation date, that's going to be this coming Wed.  So, she is using some software on her home computer to get stuff together.  In the meantime, I am feeling quite "bleh" and procrastinating here on LJ.  I also had the joy of walking into the back office and finding a small flood because the sink had stopped up and Julie left the faucet dripping overnight!  Luckily, the maintenance guys got down here pretty quickly, so it wasn't a big deal.  Anyway, I hope I will be able to get through the day, rest a little, maybe go see the movie tonight, then be ready to move some stuff around tomorrow.  Hopefully, it will be a good weekend! :)

I liked Garden State too. Maybe it's a hometown kind of thing?

<longest comment ever!>

Garden State is probably my favorite movie of the past couple years. I have yet to replace it with anything else. A side note, at least 5 people have told me that Natalie Portman's character in that movie HAD to have been based on me. Flattery!

P.S. I'm not sure if I ever told you the origin of my lj name, but there is a funny online cartoon called "Lobster Magnet." The song cracks me up. Plenty of people have found my journal and been like "I wanted that name!" But usually after they read a bit, they decide I am worthy and don't mind too much :)

I want to see the Pirate movie badly. Let us know your opinion!

*LOL* Flattery, indeed! I certainly wouldn't mind going out with a girl like that. You must date me, lobstermagnet!!! *begs, pleads* Ha, ha, ha!

Thanks for sharing your username origin with me, I was not aware of that cartoon. It's funny that other people contact you about it! I am also pleased to have received your longest comment ever. *bows deeply*

Re: Moving....

Good talking to you this weekend, man. squealnakedcatj filled me in a little more on the job situation, that sounds like it's turned out pretty positively overall! Good deal, I will keep you in my prayers and I hope the transition goes well.

Flicks

On Christmas, after Christmas dinner we always go with another family to see a movie and Galaxy Quest was one of those. We all loved it, especially my friend's mom who is an old-school Trekkie. :-)

I loved Garden State as well, it just makes me feel good. I also love the soundtrack.

It looks like I'm going to Pirates next weekend, I can't wait!

Yeah Blockbuster sucks

Re: Flicks

I am thinking about buying the GS soundtrack myself, it was good. Nice to see another Galaxy Quest recommendation! :P
