Talked to
squealnakedcatj a little while ago, he confirmed that he is coming up to the Fort tomorrow morning. Yay! Might go see the new Pirates of the Carribean movie tonight, I made tentative plans with Troy & Jim to see it on opening night. Left a message for him last night, hope to hear from him when I get home.
Blockbuster is such a ripoff. I forgot to mention in my previous posting that I rented some movies over the weekend. I actually felt like staying up and watching something, especially with mostly reruns on TV, so I went to get a pizza from Papa John's and stopped at the Blockbuster next door. I was thinking older movies would run for $2.00 or something like that, not $3.79 each or whatever it was! Stupid. I might take a look at the new Family Video that opened near my house, I just went to Blockbuster this time because of its proximity to the pizza. Grr. Anyway, I rented
Galaxy Quest (at
tv_elf's suggestion),
Signs, and
Garden State.
GQ actually wasn't bad, I'm not a big Tim Allen fan, but it had its moments -- the part where the aliens think Gilligan's Island is a historical reality was pretty amusing! I was not particularly impressed with
Signs -- I appreciated the faith
and science being in tandem rather than working opposed to each other, but it was somewhat bland and I could guess within the first five minutes that the reverend would get his faith back somehow. Very "Blair Witch" in some aspects, too.
Garden State was definitely my favorite -- I like Zach Braff a lot and I had been meaning to rent this
forever. Plus, I'm from NJ! Very good
and I listened to both commentaries. Whee!
Not too much else going on. Julie is working from home today; I was mistaken on the presentation date, that's going to be this coming Wed. So, she is using some software on her home computer to get stuff together. In the meantime, I am feeling quite "bleh" and procrastinating here on LJ. I also had the joy of walking into the back office and finding a small flood because the sink had stopped up and Julie left the faucet dripping overnight! Luckily, the maintenance guys got down here pretty quickly, so it wasn't a big deal. Anyway, I hope I will be able to get through the day, rest a little, maybe go see the movie tonight, then be ready to move some stuff around tomorrow. Hopefully, it will be a good weekend! :)
