Love Letter

Dear Katharine McPhee,

Let me begin by saying you looked positively ravishing tonight.  Even more importantly, you sounded beautiful.  You also projected a wonderful humility and kindness along with a sexy allure.  You came across as a true star, someone who is going to go very far.   I would ask you to remember that Taylor Hicks is the flavor of the month who will undoubtedly follow in the footsteps of MC Hammer, Vanilla Ice, and other musical bygones.  He's entertaining for now, but he will never grow and develop truly lasting entertainment skills.  You are only 21 years old, you are going to do great.

I would also like to ask you to tell 19 Entertainment to kiss your ass for giving you such a crappy final song to sing.  Even the judges, paid by FOX and 19 Entertainment to pimp your upcoming album, couldn't muster up any enthusiasm for that dismal tune.  I agree with Randy 100% when he said it was the song, not you.  So, you may want to demand some kind of apology or reparations from them.  You should also know that I am telling anyone and everyone that the Soul Patrol can kiss my ass.

This is the country that voted GWB in for a second term, whose approval ratings are now approaching Nixonian levels because he sucks.  So, don't take the voting personally.  Please know that I will always consider you an American Idol and that I am wishing you all the best.  I will buy your albums, even with "My Destiny" as your first single -- it's because I care that much.  McPheever is a condition I will always have and I will continue to thoroughly enjoy the "affliction."

Will you run for president someday, Kat?  Please say yes.

Forever yours,
spk1121

Wow. It's amazing sometimes how two people can have such drastically different perspectives on something.

*wry grin* Indeed. Can our friendship handle it? *fearful look*

By the way, I have to admit you using this icon here made me laugh. ;)

Tried & true

It seems like I see it a lot. I wonder why that is? Hmm... :P

I actually like "My Destiny" up until the end, when it really got cheesy. The beginning was quite nice.

I kind of knew she wasn't going to win, I just didn't want to say it aloud in case I jinxed things but, I say look at Bo Bice and how well he has done. And even Clay Aiken.

Back to your letter - it's wonderfully written. :)

My Destiny

Yeah, I'm sure she'll go far despite the "shame" of first runner-up on TV's highest rated juggernaut. Glad you like the letter. :)

I didn't really follow Idol...but she reminds me of Rachael Ray for some reason.

*don't hit me*

RR

I like Rachael Ray! I can kind of see what you're talking about, too. Well, observed -- you get a pat on the shoulder and a confident nod, not the beating you expected! :P

I mean, look at that. The poses, the faces...
(You believed me. You admitted that. I don't know why I felt compelled to do Google images.)

Strike a pose

Perhaps you expected more of a fight from me? ;) You were all geared up to prove your point, so you're still going to go ahead and do it anyway! It's all good, I like looking at RR too (even if she is now married). How's the cookbook?

Hehe, you've probably got it right.
And it's really good! I like it a lot - lots of good things.

Wow, not that you're bitter or anything about the outcome of American Idol. I am guessing that you were cursing out the TV last night then????

<strike>Bitterness</strike>

Not really. I'm just irritated because I think Katharine is so much better, but she's still gonna go far. Clay and Bo have shown you don't need to win to do well. I knew the odds were in Taylor's favor, so I was certainly disappointed but I wasn't cursing overly much because it was pretty much expected. Just a "Son of a..." under my breath, perhaps. It's certainly not worth being bitter about!

I really don't think that girl is pretty at all.

I didn't hear her sing, but I think charisma goes a lot further than talent which may explain why she lost.

I thought the "don't take the voting personally" part was funny, though.

that is all for now,

amy

Charismatic

Well, now, that's just crazy talk! I really do think she has a great voice, she just needs to make it a little more consistent and pick good tunes. Charisma certainly doesn't hurt, but I don't think a nice personality and her looks are entirely pulling the wool over my eyes. So, I am still a McPhee fan -- w00t, w00t!

Glad you liked the last part of the posting. ;)
