Christmas Miracle, Vehicular Style

I miss my Christmas CDs, they're all packed away. *sniff, sniff*  Maybe I'll borrow some of my parents, though they don't have many of the ones I do.  Hopefully, I'll have access to my own in the very near future!

I'd like to thank everyone for their birthday well wishes AGAIN.  LJ has been sending me old comments and a bunch of them are from last month. *smacks LJ*

I had an interesting thing happen to me last night.  I drove up to the United Methodist Church of the Covenant to do a fencing demonstration.  Little Mehedia and her dad were kind enough to help me out, so we met there and unpacked the gear by the curb.  I had my blinkers on because I went inside to figure out who we should talk to and where we should set up, then we unpacked -- probably a total of 10 minutes.  When I went to start my car to go park, it wouldn't!  Adam and I thought it was the battery, we figured we could mess with jumper cables after we were done with the demonstration.  So, that went well and we had some fun.  When we got out and loaded the car, I decided to try it one more time just for the heck of it as Adam was pulling up.  Unbelievably, it started!  Now here's the kicker.  It was so dead that my clock is wrong and I lost all my preprogrammed radio channels.  Yet it somehow started up when it was finally time to leave!  I thought maybe someone from the church had helped while we were inside, but how could they open the hood when the unlocking mechanism is found inside what was a locked car?  Holy mysteries, Batman!  It must be a Christmas miracle!  *thanks Jesus, Santa, Kwanzaa Man*  The power was still low enough that I could see the headlights visibly dim when I hit the window button, but I got down to the community center and then back home without incident.  Whew!

Oog. If it's not battery trouble, it could be the alternator, which would be slightly pricey. Be careful, because if it is the alternator, that usually decides to die when you're driving, and half of the time it's like Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Have it checked!

Close Encounters of the Third Kind

Yeah, I had the alternator die on me a few years back while still in Muncie. I've gone out a couple times since Wednesday night, it seems to be working OK! Don't know if the extreme cold messed something up or what, but I'll take what I can get. I need to get my oil changed this week anyway, I'll probably ask them to run a quick check.
