Fuzzy Iconography

Well, it's official.  I had way too much time on my hands this evening, and spent most of it creating and collating icons.  You can check out all my Get Fuzzy icons (courtesy of _erin and others posting the full strips to getfuzzyfeed) and some more in the near future here.  This link is also at the top of my journal in the links list.  Neato, huh?  I really want to make some animated ones for streetfighticon, I have a couple good ideas.

It's looking like Scooter Libby is pretty f***ed -- yay!  Now, let's get Cheney & Wolfowitz and my week will be complete.

You know, I think people deserve to be punished if they've done something wrong. But, ever since my aunt's legal trouble, I have a hard time taking any pleasure in seeing someone else (take Martha Stewart for example) indicted on federal charges and facing public humiliation. You might want to put yourself in the place of the people who might care about Scooter Libby, however much he might have this coming to him, when you're rejoicing over his state of fuckedness. Imagine if it was a family member or close friend of yours.

Just food for thought.

Food for thought

Well, I appreciate you bringing this fact up. It's a good point and I certainly respect where you're coming from. I guess it's the sheer brazenness of the guy that gets me. Lying to the FBI, to the grand jury twice (allegedly), possibly leaking the name in the first place. The thing that kills me is that you know Cheney & Crew would be going nuts if it turned out it was a Democrat who was responsible for the leak. I have absolutely no doubt they would be calling such a person the equivalent of a terrorist. That just makes me ill. Cheney has always been the first one to play on people's fears and trump the "You are un-American" card against those who disagree with him, and his subordinates have followed suit.

I do feel bad for Libby's family and friends. You're absolutely right, he has personal ties that are going to be effected. I suppose I do feel sorry for Libby in that I suspect he's taking the fall for his boss. Still, it's hard for me to sympathize much with these guys who have done so much harm and engaged in so much deception. I suppose I should learn to dial back my own personal schadenfreude, though.

Re: Food for thought

Well, I just have this thing about wishing ill on others, because I don't think it's good for your karma or whatever you want to call it. There's a big difference between believing a person is getting what's coming to him/her and enjoying watching it happen. I really have no opinion on Libby because I haven't been following much news at all lately. But, you have to wonder about any grown man (particularly in a high-level position) who goes by "Scooter." For some reason, it brings to mind Charlie Brown pulling Snoopy in his red wagon. Whatever happened, though, I promise you his whole situation is turning more lives upside down than just his. You have no idea what we've been through with my aunt. Yeah, she's guilty, but that doesn't really matter. Just hope this never happens with anyone you care about.

It's a start, at least. I just want people who have been deceiving the American people and breaking the law to realize there are consequences to actions.
