Interviewed

1. Leave me a comment saying, "Interview me."
2. I will respond by asking you five questions. I get to pick the questions.
3. Post the answers to the questions (and the questions themselves) on your LJ.
4. Include this explanation and an offer to interview someone else in the same post.
5. When others ask to be interviewed, give them five questions.

1. What would be your ideal job?
Practical: Working in a small- to medium-sized academic library, maybe at a seminary or liberal arts college.  I would be doing reference work, working with online products/vendors, maybe doing some acquisitions work as well.  Preferably not much cataloging.
Impractical: Sleeping patient, getting paid to be konked out!  Hmm, sweet dreams...
2. What is your favourite thing about God?
The fact that He has a sense of humor.  Though the Bible doesn't really talk about the Lord having a sense of humor, we know that all good things come from God.  And I've never heard anybody refer to a sense of humor as a bad thing!  The Bible does talk about Jesus going to feasts and weddings, eating and drinking with all kinds of folks.  Just makes me feel even more like God is interested in and sincerely loves a regular schmo like me!
3. What is the most recent book you read?
How Did It Really Happen?, produced by the Reader's Digest Association.
4. How many jobs have you applied for recently?
Since I started keeping better track in early February, I've sent out 75 applications to libraries and six local apps for places like Borders and EB Games.  In this first week of May, I sent resumes out to fifteen different places and set up two local interviews (Brookstone, EB Games).
5. What is your biggest regret?
Probably the fact that I didn't admit to myself that I was having problems and having trouble last year, and ended my SLIS career on such a crappy note.  If I had recognized the signs earlier and dealt with my issues instead of avoiding them or just hoping it was a "phase," I wouldn't have lost months to despair and inactivity.  It took me a long time to get myself back on track, and I still struggle to some extent.  I feel like my depression and anxiety affected relationships, my academic work, my job search, my potential, and more.  All I can do at this point is learn from the experience, and be better prepared for the future.

Current Mood: thoughtful thoughtful

Asking away

1.) How many more children would you like to have, if any?
2.) What is your philosophy on family and friendship?
3.) If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would it be?
4.) If you could be anytime in the world, when would it be?
5.) Why are you a member of the Reformed Episcopalian church?

Re: Asking away

1) I'd like to have at least one more child, but I would certainly prefer to have 2 or 3 more...I'm a full on fan of having a brood of children scurrying around and keeping me on my toes!
2) Family is what you make of it, and made up of whom you allow in. Definitely a case of you get what you give.
3) Europe
4) The day after my son was born...I'd make choices then that I put off until recently.
5) I was raised in this church and feel it fulfills my spiritual needs.
